The three figures pause on a hillside overlooking the village.

Behind them, Olympos unfolds across the mountain, its dense arrangement of white houses forming a continuous and structured backdrop.

The flag occupies the upper part of the frame, extending diagonally across the scene. Its presence introduces a second layer of symbolism alongside the religious context of the litany.

The children stand close to the man, their traditional clothing linking them visually to the cultural continuity of the place.

The composition balances the figures against the landscape, placing the human presence in direct relation to the village.

This moment unfolds outside the central action of the procession, yet remains connected to it, reflecting how the ritual extends beyond its formal structure into the life of the community.

Part of Ethos, a long-term body of work exploring traditions and cultural expressions across Greece.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0458/0632/1823/files/olympos-karpathos-ethos-man-kids-flag-view-dodecanese-greece.jpg?v=1777453135
https://checkout.tatakis.com/products/black-white-photography-wall-carrying-greek-flag-olympos-karpathos-dodecanese
